Sugar Grove was planned to be a mixed-use community located in the corn fields south west of Chicago. Developed by Forest City Enterprises, the plan included retail, entertainment, a variety of residential types and the Village Hall and Library. It was hoped that through planning and not just through architecture, a dimension in time could be created that would give the sense of a community that had evolved and not just sprung-up over night. Then 2008 hit and the project was abandoned.
