The Mayfair Collection is a mixed-use development begun in 2011, occupying 70 acres at the intersection of US 45 and Burleigh Street in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The first Phase of the Mayfair Collection consists of the adaptive re-use of 400,000 square feet of antiquated warehouse space into 274,000 square feet of a new retail center. A third of the depth of the original structure was removed allowing for new landscaped parking fields. A series of new facades, utilizing a kit of parts of varying scales and expressions were developed along the quarter mile length of the project. The new facades expose a portion of the existing structure in order to form an arcade, with a concentration on materials, textures, lighting and landscape in order to encourage pedestrian movement and to facilitate connection with future phases.
